Utilize AI using LocalAI (on-premise) via OpenAI API
AI (Artificial Intelligence) becomes more and more important today. Unfortunately there are many misunderstandings around what AI is able to do and - even more important - where the data used is going to and where it should.
While we - at least today - do not want to discuss about what in which context is AI able to do, we definitely do want to discuss where you should give your data to.
You would not give your data a stranger on the street!
And you should not do this online!
Using the nowadays discussed “big AIs” let you do exactly this: giving your data to a stranger on the street!
The funny thing is, you do not need to. Simply install LocalAI in your own datacenter - alternatively or addiotnally using AnythingLLM - and you do have an OpenAI API compatible AI available within your company's infastructure and therefore secure for your data.
While that is your decision, OTDT is - using an API - always able to send appropriate requests to an AI and process the sent responses.
